Hey guys, it’s your boy Roy here with another photographic insert - and a significant one too!
I recently visited the Pergola Hills and Gardens venue in my fave district of London, Hampstead. This area means a lot to my family and I for personal reasons, and I thought it was fitting I returned to begin series 2.0 of my photography here. Series 1.0 was back in mid 2012 where I did a series of street photography shots from the area - some making it into my 2Sides collection of which you can view here.
I was scrolling through my phone one evening recently (what’s new??) when it dawned on me that I had not visited the area of Hampstead in AGES! I wanted to visit a venue within Hampstead that I had not reached before, considering how well I know the area. The Pergola Gardens came up quite high in the search results of picturesque venues to photography, which helped me make a quick decision.
I actually nearly got lost on my way here, and at one point thought I was accidentally trespassing on someone’s property as I saw a man and his dog suddenly coming in my direction (they helped me find the entrance).
The Pergola Gardens is used regularly as a wedding venue, and I can easily see why - it is gorgeous. There are so many opportunities for superb one-point perspective shots, and of course the landscape backdrops are stunning! In this blog post, I have shared a small handful of the shots I took, with more available here - I welcome your thoughts on these.
What I love about Hampstead is that it is very me. I have always seen Hampstead as a quiet, laid back location, and I feel that is me to a tee (more the quiet I must admit ;).
More from this series soon enough. Thanks for reading!
